WHO IS THIS TRAINING AIMED TOWARDS? 

The QA Level 2 Award for Community First Responders (RQF) is ideal for those who are currently performing as, or aspiring to perform as, a community first responder. Regulated and nationally recognised, This qualification has been specifically designed to provide Learners with the knowledge and skills needed to administer initial emergency care at life-threatening incidents prior to the arrival of further medical assistance.

WHAT IS COVERED?

  • The role and responsibilities of a community
    first responder
  • Assessing a scene at an emergency incident
    Assessing a patient, including:
    o Primary survey
    o Secondary survey
    o Patient handover
  • Assessing and managing a patient’s airway
  • Managing an unresponsive patient who is not
    breathing normally
  • How to use an Automated External Defibrilliator
    during a cardiopulmonary resuscitation attempt
  • Administration of emergency oxygen
  • Community first response equipment
  • Managing patients:
    o in shock
    o with breathing difficulties
    o with anaphylaxis
    o with a suspected major illness
  • Conducting and recording base line observations
